Two Evenings of Films with Yoko Ono

In conjunction with the exhibition Yoko Ono: One Woman Show, 1960–1971, MoMA presents a selection of Yoko Ono’s films in a theater setting. Yoko Ono will offer commentary, providing unique insight into the inspirations and processes behind her work. The program will conclude with a post-screening conversation between Yoko Ono and a guest respondent.

An Evening with Yoko Ono and Chrissie Iles

This evening will feature a montage of films and music spanning Yoko Ono’s career, including rarely shown footage from Ono’s film archive. The screening will be followed by a discussion between Yoko Ono and Chrissie Iles, the Anne & Joel Ehrenkranz Curator at the Whitney Museum of America Art and organizer of the 1997–98 exhibition Yoko Ono: Have you seen the horizon lately? at the Museum of Modern Art Oxford.

An Evening with Yoko Ono and Alexandra Munroe

This evening centers on Yoko Ono’s feature-length film, “Rape” (1969) (a collaboration with John Lennon), which will be accompanied by a selection of short films from the period. Alexandra Munroe, Samsung Senior Curator, Asian Art and Senior Advisor, Global Arts at the Guggenheim Museum and organizer of Ono’s touring retrospective, YES Yoko Ono (2000–2002), will engage Yoko Ono in a conversation following the screening.
