Film Program Highlights for Spring and Summer 2020

The Museum of Modern Art, MoMA PS1, and the MoMA Stores in New York City have closed temporarily. Updates to be announced.

The Museum of Modern Art announces film program highlights of the spring and summer 2020 seasons, including Tsai Ming-Liang: In Dialogue with Time, Memory, and Self (April 10–25, 2020), a full retrospective comprising 13 feature films and a selection of shorts, Participant at MoMA (April 29–May 17) a 15-film series highlighting Participant’s use of entertainment to incite and inspire social change and Forgotten Filmmakers of the French New Wave (May 27–July 6),  a major survey of the often overlooked filmmakers of the genre, including more than 30 features and 25 short films.



Tsai Ming-Liang: In Dialogue with Time, Memory, and Self  is organized by La Frances Hui, Associate Curator, Department of Film. Special thanks to Taipei Cultural Center.

Participant at MoMA is organized by Rajendra Roy, The Celeste Bartos Chief Curator of Film, Department of Film.

Forgotten Filmmakers of the French New Wave is organized by Jean-Michel Frodon, guest curator, and Joshua Siegel, Curator, Department of Film.
