Acclaimed Chef Mina Stone to Open New Restaurant at MoMA PS1

February 20, 2019

MoMA PS1

The Museum of Modern Art, MoMA PS1, and the MoMA Stores in New York City have closed temporarily.

Mina’s is an all-day café at MoMA PS1 from chef Mina Stone. Informed by lessons from her Greek grandmother, Stone’s deceptively simple, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine is an homage to the slow-cooked, homestyle dishes typically found on family dinner tables throughout Greece. Whether in the mood for a snack or a full meal, the menu offers a range of staples like Greek Mezzethaki to daily-changing specials such as braised chicken with cinnamon and clove and orzo with pine nuts, lemon zest and parmesan. On Saturdays and Sundays, Mina’s will serve an extended weekend lunch menu. The beverage program features coffee from Devoción, a selection of Greek natural wines, craft beers from Paros and cocktails with Greek spirits such as mastiha and ouzo, the anise-flavoured aperitif. Designed by artist Alex Eagleton, Mina’s light, airy interior marries 1980s Athens and Miami. The space offers museum-goers a visual respite from experiencing art at MoMA PS1.
