The Museum of Modern Art Announces Increase In Admission Price

The Museum of Modern Art

The Museum of Modern Art announces changes to its admission pricing and structure that will take effect on October 16, 2023.  The new prices will be $30 for adults, $22 for senior citizens 65 and older, $22 for visitors with disabilities, and $17 for students, with children 16 and under remaining free.  Tickets purchased online at moma.org will be available at a reduced price of $28 for adults, $20 for senior citizens, $20 for visitors with disabilities, and $15 for students. Film tickets purchased onsite and online will now be $14.00 for adults, $12.00 for seniors, $12.00 for visitors with disabilities, and $10.00 for students.

MoMA has not raised admission prices since 2011, while the cost of operating the Museum has steadily increased in every category, year on year, for more than a decade.

“As we carefully prioritize every possible measure to deliver innovative exhibitions, public programs and strengthen our attendance, revenue, and staffing, these changes in admission prices will help the Museum maintain financial stability,” said Glenn D. Lowry, The David Rockefeller Director of The Museum of Modern Art. “Our goal is to ensure that MoMA continues to offer an extraordinary experience to the nearly three million visitors we welcome each year to connect with the art of our time.”

MoMA will continue to offer free admission for children 16 and under at all times, as well as for New Yorkers during UNIQLO NYC Nights, which are held on the first Friday of each month from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. In addition, MoMA tickets can be presented for free admission to MoMA PS1 within 14 days. MoMA will also continue to participate in a wide array of other discounted and free admission programs.

Admission is always free for all MoMA members.
